The project module course visited the Schumag plant yesterday for a tour of the production facilities of the company and a meet and greet with its CEO and the technical director. The students gained practical insight in an automotive supplier therewith, in frame of the course. We are very thankful to Schumag to offer our students this experience. |

A presentation on the ‘Chinese Automobile Market & Industry’ has been given on 20/09/2011 at RWTH Aachen Summer School. Ralf Drauz was one of the speakers giving insight to over 30 PhD and Master Students from 5 countries. A consecutive panel discussion followed with the topic ‘125 years of automobiles – what will be their future mobility concepts’. This was seen as very fruitful to the overall course as about a third of the participants had a Chinese background. |

After the first lectures and distribution of teamwork on topics related to strategy development, an on-site visit will give the students the exciting opportunity to get an impression of the production facilities and meet the management team of the company. The Center for Internationale Automobile Management (CIAM) was established in October 2010. "By combining theoretical findings and practical insights, we enable automobile companies to compete internationally".
On behalf of the CIAM's Director, Dr. Garnet Kasperk, we proudly announce the forthcoming publication of the book "Internationalization of Chinese Automobile Companies". The book will be available in Spring 2011.
Close cooperations with automobile expert from the Tsinghua and Tongji Universities in China, King Mongkut's Insitute of Technology Ladkrab in Thailand, the University of Malaysia, and from the National University of Singapore enable an active exchange of both ideas and PhD students. The representative offices of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) are providing support for the CIAM's activities in China, Russia, Brazil, and India.
Research project partners at master and postgraduate levels are Magna, BMW, Continental, VW and Audi, Daimler, Bosch, BorgWarner, and several other international corporations.
